The 2008 Festival of Trees & Lights was held Nov. 21 to 23, 2008 at Louisville Slugger Field .

Please join Kosair Children's Hospital and the Children's Hospital Foundation for the 2009 Festival of Trees & Lights, Nov. 20 to 22.

Special 2008 Ticketed Events

Saturday, Nov. 15, 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The Snow Ball black-tie holiday party presented by OfficeWare, included cocktails, a gourmet dinner, dancing and a silent auction at the Marriott Louisville Downtown. Please call (502) 629-8060 for 2009 sponsorship information or to be put on the mailing list for 2009.

Thursday, Nov. 20, 7 to 10 p.m. 
Holiday Dazzlepreview party, presented by Today's Woman , featured party hosting tips, mixology classes, holiday shopping and appetizers.

Friday, Nov. 21, 6 to 9 p.m.
Dickens Family Night presented by Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, with fireworks at 8:45 p.m. presented by L&N Federal Credit Union , Dickens-era costumed characters and carolers, Santa Claus and special free children's activities. Old English fare, included bangers and mash, fish and chips and shepherd's pie.

Hosted by the Children's Hospital Foundation , hundreds of volunteers design and decorate Christmas trees, wreaths and hand crafted holiday items.

This event is also made possible by numeroussponsors in addition to Republic Bank & Trust Company.

All proceeds of this event will be used to support pediatric surgical services at Kosair Children's Hospital . In 2007, the festival raised nearly $400,000.

Festival highlights:

  • Children's Hospital Foundation car raffle: winner was able to choose between $40,000 toward aSam Swope BMW or $40,000 in cash. Drawing was held Nov. 23 at the Festival of Trees & Lights.
  • Children's activities area, open Nov. 22 and 23, loaded with crafts, activities and learning for kids of all ages. Activities include ornament making, face painting, decorating candy gingerbread houses and crafts celebrating Kwanzaa, Jewish traditions and Christian heritage.
  • Workshops on wreath making, Nov. 21 and 22, hosted by All Occasions Flowers and Gifts.
  • Sweet Shop with take-home delicacies
  • Coffee Lounge, presented by Meijer. Proudly serving john conti Coffee.
  • Gift Shop filled with delightful gift ideas for the holidays
